Estd. in 1982. The School is affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) New Delhi for ICSE ( Xth Std.) and ISC ( XIIth Std) for Science, Arts, and Commerce streams. It is a complete co-educational, English Medium School from Nursery to Class XII. Situated at the heart of Howrah City at Howrah Maidan, a few steps away from the proposed Metro Railway Station and within 1 k.m. of walking distance from Howrah Railway Station.
The school with more than 3500 students in enrollment, is run by the Giribala Memorial Trust. The school session is from April to March.
The admission form for the next session is available from the month of November each year. Students of Maria’s Day School are exempted from the admission procedure in class XI. They are promoted to class XI and offered a stream provisionally on the basis of the previous examinations. Final admission to any student in class XI is offered only after publication of the Council’s result and after due approval from the Council for eligibility.
The standard of performance in ICSE/ISC is good and in comparison to the best in the country. The number of students scoring above 90% and qualified in competitive examinations is a matter of great achievement in this school.
The school library and laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science are highly equipped and of research standard.
