Academic results are excellent not because we are selective but because our teaching is methodical, comprehensive and well planned. Each subject in Devshala is applied to everyday life by means of innumerable projects, assignments and activities thereby developing the student’s skills in enquiry, creative thinking and problem solving. Our dedicated teachers play the role of mentors and facilitators.
Sports help students develop a holistic approach to life and improve their all round ability. The school provides training in 15 disciplines like basketball, cricket, tennis, karate, skating,table tennis , yoga and many more. Our students have been excelling and winning laurels in various sporting events at the Interschool, State and National level.
We provide a unique blend of modernity with tradition, inculcating in our students a deep respect for our values, while sensitizing them to a global outlook. Internationalism is integrated into the school curriculum through various experiences like Collaborative activities, Cultural exchange and Teacher development programmes. The INTACH Club of Devshala is a proud recipient of numerous awards for their short films in the categories of Best Cinematography, and Best Screenplay, Best Theme, Best Background Score and many more.
Our Interact Club under the aegis of the Rotary Club, Jubilee Hills is associated with various programmes like Awareness on Menstrual Hygiene, Segregating Dry Waste and Wet Waste, Saying No to Plastic, Use of Eco-Friendly Ganeshas, Healthy Eating, Recycling of E-Waste, Each One-Teach One, Donating books to the Government School Library, Conducting activities at Government Schools, etc.
Gitanjali Devshala started its Special Section in the year 1997 with the aim of having Inclusion and Integration, under the guidance of NIMH now NIEPED. Specially abled students with Down’s Syndrome,Autism,ADHD and Learning Disabilities are admitted. Many children have successfully completed 10th and 12th through NIOS and placed themselves in different vocational sectors.OurSpecial Section started in 1997 and caters to students mild to moderate mentally challenged children integrates them into the regular stream as per their abilities. The focus is on developing life skills and encouraging social integration. Under the guidance of our Special Educators, children have completed the10th their X and XII class examination under the National Institute of Open School (NIOS). Students of each class actively and enthusiastically participate in, field trips, home visits and compulsory community service activities every year. Over the years they conducted Fund Raisers and collected funds for various Relief initiatives taken up by the local bodies and the government. They have also contributed their time and resources to orphanages, old age homes, Home for the Destitute etc.
Our Interact Club is actively involved in helping Government schools under the aegis of the Rotary Club of Jubilee Hills.
We recognise that parental participation is a vital component in a child’s education. We provide parents with opportunities for healthy interactions through seminars, talks by experts, open days etc. organised by the school.We measure our success by our students rising high in their chosen spheres, leading the way in the top colleges and universities across the world. Gitanjali Devshala, was established under the aegis of Gitanjali Educational and Welfare Society, at Sappers Lines, Secunderabad in June 1997 with an aim to provide quality education with a perfect blend of extra – curricular activities. With classes from Nursery to Class X and affiliation to the ICSE Board, Devshala now has a strength of about 1200 students.
The school started with 400 students and 35 teachers. The school has grown by leaps and bounds and is now considered the most prestigious school in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
The Gitanjali system of education is designed to maximize the all round development of the child’s potential by providing complete academic support while building life skills such as Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration and Physical Skills in a nurturing value-based-environment for every child to move forward with confidence.
