Qualifications for the Pune-based Pimpri Chinchwad University

 

The prerequisites for admission to Pimpri Chinchwad University (PCU) may vary by subject and candidate category. However, the following are some common criteria for eligibility:

B.Tech

Any recognized board, including State Board, CBSE, ICSE, and IB, must have awarded the student a passing grade in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and/or Technical Vocational Subjects (10+2).

A grade of 45% was needed in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with English as a subject for students in the Open Category. For students in the reserved group, a 40% minimum grade is needed in the courses of English, Physics, and Chemistry.
The applicant must also have passed a minimum of one engineering admission test, such as the MHT-CET, JEE, or another state- or national-level engineering entrance test administered by PERA, CUET, or the admission Test Conducted by PCU.
On the basis of merit and the results of the admissions exam, candidates are chosen.

B.Tech. (Lateral Entry, Second Year)

passed for at least 2 years or 3 years (for re-entry). Candidates from the reserved category must obtain a minimum score of 40% on the diploma exam.

successfully passed the 10+2 exam with mathematics as a subject, earned a B.Sc. degree with at least 45% (or 40% for those who fall under the reserved category) of the possible marks from a university that the UGC recognizes, and qualified for admission.

If there are any openings in the First Year after the slots at lateral entry have been filled, candidates are chosen based on merit AND their performance on the entrance exam.

B.Des

A minimum score of 45% (or 40% for students in the restricted category) on the prerequisite exam OR a three-year government-sponsored diploma or an equivalent degree from any respectable board.

AND a valid scorecard from an entrance exam taken under the guidance of UCEED, NIFT, NID, or PCU. Candidates must also complete the PCU's Design Aptitude exam in order to be considered for admission. This exam is followed by a studio exam and an individual interview.

BBA

For applicants in the open category, a minimum score at the 10+2 level of 50% is required for students who took the ICSE, CBSE, any state board, or a comparable exam from any recognized board in the arts, sciences, commerce, or any other stream; for applicants in the reserved category, the minimum score is 45%.

Candidates are chosen based on merit AND a PCU-conducted private interview.

BCA

Students in the open category must have earned an equivalent diploma from any recognized board or have completed the ICSE/CBSE/Any State Board Examination with at least a 50% score in Science, Commerce, and outstanding mathematics as a subject. Candidates in the reserved category must receive a score of 45%.

Candidates are chosen based on merit AND a PCU-conducted private interview.

B.Sc

For students in the open category, a minimum score of 50% was required in the 10+2 Science subject on the ICSE, CBSE, or other state board exam, while a minimum score of 45% was required for those in the reserved category.

MCA

Open Category students had to receive a minimum mark of 50% on each final exam they took.

AND a successful performance on the PCU-administered national, state, and all-India exams in addition to the admission tests.

Before choosing candidates based on merit, the PCU conducts a personal interview with each applicant.

MBA

Candidates for the reserved category (from the state of Maharashtra only) had to receive at least 45% overall. Students who qualify for the Open Category must have received at least a 50% overall grade in any stream of graduation from a UGC-approved institution or its equivalent. AND A SUCCESS on the subsequent National Level Test administered by a reputable testing organization:

Among the exams that will be approved are the CAT, XAT, PERA, MH-CET, CUET, CMAT, or PCU Test.

The PCU conducts both an individual interview and a group discussion before choosing candidates.

BA

passed a 10+2 course, or its equivalent, with a minimum grade of 50% for Open Category students and 45% for Reserved Category students from a recognized board in any subject (Arts, Science, or Commerce).
